THE WACO BREAK DOWN

The Waco Annual Charity Open held at Brazos Park East proved to be a challenge for some elite players on tour. Any pros coming from LVC or Memorial had to make a quick adjustment when dealing with holes 4-12 which feature very tight fairways, sloped greens, & protected baskets.

In the MPO field- Nikko Locastro had a strong performance dueling Cale Leiviska in the final round to go -26 to take the win by 3 strokes. Youngsters Gavin Rathbun (T7th) and Gannon Buhr (T11) had big showings early in the weekend, making the lead card second round. Many top pros struggled this weekend such as Colton Montgomery, last year's winner of the event, who shot a +3 leaving him in 99th place.

Paige Pierce, the winner of the Las Vegas Challenge, had trouble adjusting her game struggling through her first two rounds at Brazos East but finished strong in her final round shooting -6.

Kona Star Panis, shooting very clean all three rounds, finished -16 leading the field the entire tournament. Panis said she "had no expectations" coming into the tournament.

Live coverage of the event was produced and distributed by the Disc Golf Network. Post-produced coverage of the event was provided in partnership with the Disc Golf Pro Tour by Jomez Pro, GK Pro Disc Golf, & Gatekeeper Media.
